Important: analytics integration is configured, but it will not load for a visitor unless they choose “Accept analytics”.
Overview
medCaliper is responsible for this website. We aim to collect only the information needed to understand whether the site is useful. The public website does not provide user accounts, and the analytics implementation does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, feedback form answers or other directly identifying information.
This notice was last updated on 2 September 2026. It should be reviewed before analytics is activated and whenever the website, analytics provider or data-use settings change.
Essential storage
The website stores your analytics preference in your browser's local storage under medcaliper_analytics_consent_v1. This is necessary to remember whether you accepted or declined optional analytics. It remains until you clear browser storage or change your preference through “Privacy settings”.
Core page content, navigation, contact links and feedback links remain available if you decline analytics.
Optional usage analytics
When configured, this website uses Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics is not requested and analytics cookies are not set until you actively accept. If you accept, Google Analytics may process:
- the page title and page path, with URL query strings excluded by our tracking code;
- fixed interaction labels for website sections, buttons, links, FAQs and video milestones;
- technical information such as browser, device category and screen size;
- approximate location information derived by the provider; and
- pseudonymous identifiers used to distinguish browser sessions.
Google may receive technical network information needed to deliver the service. We do not send typed content, email addresses, feedback responses or a medCaliper user ID to Google Analytics.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics commonly uses cookies named _ga and _ga_<property-id>. Their exact duration depends on the analytics property configuration and should be confirmed here before activation. Declining or later switching analytics off removes matching first-party analytics cookies that are accessible to this website.
Provider and international processing
Google Analytics is provided by Google. Data may be processed outside the United Kingdom under Google's applicable data-transfer arrangements. Read Google's privacy policy for more information.
Why we use analytics
If you consent, analytics helps us understand which information visitors view, whether the explainer video is useful, and which feedback or contact routes are selected. The legal basis for loading optional analytics is your consent. We do not use this website analytics configuration for advertising or personalised marketing.
What engagement events are measured?
After consent, the website can record:
- page views;
- the first time each major homepage section enters view;
- navigation, contact, feedback and call-to-action clicks;
- FAQ items opened; and
- video start, pause, resume, 25%, 50%, 75% and completion milestones.
These events describe use of the website. They do not tell medCaliper who you are. If the website later introduces user accounts or authenticated areas, this notice and the tracking design must be reassessed before connecting activity to an account.
Your choices
You can accept or decline analytics when the website asks. You can change your choice later using the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser.
Your information rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights over personal data, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You can also learn about your rights or raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
